Part 1: Disco Bombing

We’re thrilled to be kicking off this tour in cahoots that Nashville sensation How I Became The Bomb!  Rest area stretching sessions, gear loading competitions, subway eating contests, trucker stop photo booths . . . it’s bound to be a celebration of open road revelry.  Not to mention one hell of a show every night!  Come check it out for yourself (and click to invite your friends on facebook!):

Part 2: New York, New York

Disco Bombing will seamlessly transition into the controlled chaos of one the nation’s biggest festivals in one of the world’s craziest cities — the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC!  CMJ is what some would call the “South By Southwest” of the east coast, showcasing thousands of artists from all over the world, including Phoenix, UNKLE, Dan Black,  Four Tet, and many, many, many, many more.  It’s a tornado of incredible talent and industry folks chasing each other’s tails.  So where do we fit in?

Oct. 19th, 10:30pm: Arlene’s Grocery
Oct 23rd, 9:30pm: The Studio @ Webster Hall
sponsored by 107.1FM “The Peak,” Venuszine, and popwreckoning!

Part 3:  Modern Vintage

While we’re in the biggest apple for CMJ, we’re going to spend a day in the studio with Patrick Ermlich and Eshy Gazit, producers from the multi-platinum studio The Cutting Room, and owners of their own label and production company, Modern Vintage Recordings.  These guys have produced everyone from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to OK Go, to 30 Seconds To Mars.  It’s an honor to work with these folks, and we’re all eager to get in there and see what shakes loose!

Part 4: Not for the faint of heart!

This fall tour marks a new era for MDD: we are finally going to be with the incredible Wally Sparks and his futuristic electro-shock therapy traveling light circus!  Or in other words, we’re bringing our light show on the road!  We’ve looked forward to this day for a long time.  And once you go Wally Sparks, you never go back.  It’s . . . an experience.  We promise you won’t leave feeling normal.

Hell Yeah Hoxeyville!

Thanks to everyone at Hoxeyville who came and rocked so very hard on Saturday night.  What a wonderfully crowded and sweaty-covered treat that was for all of us.  We had a blast.  Check out these pictures of the show by two fantastic photographers, Michael Erlewine and Jeff Dykhuis!  Make sure to take a look at their pages and see more of their work.

Thank you Lollapalooza, Popmatters, and Seventeen!

Ahh, the post-Lollapalooza come-down.  What an amazing and inspiring weekend.  Thanks to everyone who came to our set — estimates have it that we hit 4,000 by the end!

Popmatters is doing a 3-part story on MDD, the long road leading to Lollapalooza, and what the post-Lolla has in store for us.  Check out part 1 here:

Popmatters My Dear Disco Feature, pt. 1

. . . stay tuned for part 2 coming out in the very near future!

Lastly, thanks to Seventeen for a very nice write-up on the band.  We never saw a grease-bus becoming a teen heart-throb, but you never know with kids these days . . .

MDD in Seventeen!
